“I'm leaving,” I said.
I got up, gathered my things, and walked toward the window. The teacher turned to give a perplexed look and asked, “Where are you going?”
“I'm leaving.”
“Yes, I heard you the first time but you can't leave.”
“Watch me.”
I opened the window and lowered my bag as far as I could reach before dropping it from almost the top of the first story window. It landed with a thud.
“Good thing I bunched up the hoodie at the bottom of my bag,” I mused.
I swung my legs through the window and sat on the sill for a moment. One of my classmates asked, “How are you gonna pull off a jump like that?”
“It's easy,” I responded. “It's like being on fire except that you drop, roll, and THEN stop. I'll see you guys later.”
I turned back with a smile and slid out of the window. The landing is never as smooth as you want it to be. This time, however, I pulled it off without a hitch. Good. I could tell the other students had rushed over to the window to see if I actually made it. With any luck, the cute blonde in my class had been impressed. I grabbed my bag and headed toward the lake. I knew I only had a few minutes before the school security started chasing me down.
I jogged about a quarter of a mile before glancing over my shoulder and seeing them coming for me.
“Here goes nothing,” I thought and took off running.
I got bored in class and started daydreaming in my notebook.

Yes, I do write in first person. It's easier for me to describe things. Also, yes, I was considering expanding it.
